Storms will come, mighty waves will roll, the harsh winds of circumstance shaking us, at times, to the very core. Yet we, poor and needy sinners all, have a sure and steadfast hope in Christ, the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world. Job looked forward to this Redeemer, his last remaining hope. Even in the midst of hell on earth, knowing the Redeemer is enough. Knowing Christ has gone your way is a joy worth much more than rubies! Knowing the Redeemer in the full pardon of your sins is always enough!
Will God comfort His people? Can believers have assurance of faith? Will God deal with the wicked? These are the major questions addressed by this portion of Isaiah’s prophecy. Isaiah assures the people of God that “In that day” God’s purpose and will shall unfold in full and complete perfection. In That Day, writes Isaiah, God provides comfort for His people. In That day, God shall assure His People. And in that day, God shall judge the wicked.

Our Lord Christ shut the mouth of the accuser! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! Let us rejoice that our righteousness is of Christ! Praise His Name alone!
When the trials of faith come our way, take comfort in knowing God is in complete control. He will use these trials to deepen our faith in Christ and His finished Work. God calls on His people to ask for wisdom, to seek wisdom from above. We can and should cry out to the Father of Lights to show us His glory in the face of Jesus Christ. And, beholding the face of Christ, we find assurance and comfort through trials that God’s will to save us is forever settled in heaven.
