I know, that there is coming a grand reunion day. There is coming a day when I shall behold my blessed Savior, Christ Jesus the Lord. I shall be reunited with family members who have gone on before me. What a glad and happy time awaits the children of promise!
Will God comfort His people? Can believers have assurance of faith? Will God deal with the wicked? These are the major questions addressed by this portion of Isaiah’s prophecy. Isaiah assures the people of God that “In that day” God’s purpose and will shall unfold in full and complete perfection. In That Day, writes Isaiah, God provides comfort for His people. In That day, God shall assure His People. And in that day, God shall judge the wicked.

Beloved, think deeply on the finished work of Christ, God’s labor of undying love in the person and work of Christ Jesus on behalf of poor sinners like you and me! This is love. Love that shall not fail to do that which God has purposed to perform. Oh that God would teach our hearts anew the great lessons of love in the finished work of Christ’s accomplished redemption, a redemption conditioned solely on the perfect offering of our Lord Christ. May we be strengthened in faith and hope as we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s perfect expression of divine love.
God’s people know exactly where to flee for refuge, true and everlasting refuge! They believe rightly that God “will have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies (Lamentations 3:32a). As was truly declared by the Psalmist, “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever” (73:26).
