Job reminds us that God never leaves his people. The hardest trials and the most desperate seasons of life are not proof that God has abandoned us. On the contrary! It is in these trying times that our trust in God’s keeping grace deepens and matures as He proves Himself faithful to keep His children even through the fiery trials of life. Job had everything taken from him by God. Then, Job had everything restored to Him by God. Should God exalt a man, let that man praise the Lord. Should God bring a man down to his knees, let that man praise the Lord.
Redeemed, called personally, eternally kept by the power of God: We are God’s purchased possession, loved of the Lord so much that He sent Christ to fulfill all righteousness for us by His death on the cross. We are exhorted to testify to the truth of the Gospel of God’s free and Sovereign Grace. We have a commission to carry forth as Christians, to share Christ’s finished work in the proclamation of the Gospel. Far and wide, we must spread the Gospel. Let it be our labor of love!
How far will men go in attempts to usurp the Sovereign will and decree of God in regard to the salvation of sinners?
Though scoffers mock and ridicule the truth of our Lord’s coming judgment, God’s people trust in the promise that one day, God will finally judge the wicked and dwell with His children eternally. This place, a new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells, will serve as the eternal home of God’s redeemed children.
False professors, though appearing to have many or all of the external marks of God’s redeemed people, will always forsake the truth of the Gospel.
